Fasting and Feasting at Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor’s Latest Iftar 2025

As Ramadan 2025 unfolds, the search for a welcoming venue to break the fast becomes a cherished tradition for many. This year, I attended the Iftar at Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor at The Canvas Hotel in Dubai, where I found an experience that combined thoughtful decor and a diverse buffet to create a memorable evening.

Entrance and Ambience

Stepping into Signature, I was immediately struck by the Ramadan decorations that transformed the space. The twinkling fairy lights and elegantly placed lanterns imbued the venue with a sense of warmth and reverence for the occasion. Each detail contributed to an atmosphere suited for family gatherings and shared meals, inviting individuals to embrace the spirit of togetherness that Ramadan encourages.

The Buffet Experience

The buffet at Signature is thoughtfully designed, featuring distinct sections to navigate easily. As I approached the buffet, I noticed how it was organized into categories for desserts, salads, cold mezze, live pasta, and main courses, alongside a selection of starters. This arrangement allows guests to explore a variety of dishes while catering to different tastes and dietary preferences.

Starters: A Savory Introduction

As I delved into the starter offerings, I found a selection that included meat pastries, samosas, and spring rolls. Each item presented a delightful introduction to the meal.

The cold mezze section was particularly inviting, showcasing an array of salads and dips such as chicken salad, potato salad, spicy chickpeas, muhammara, hummus, moutabal, and labneh. Each dish was fresh and flavorful, encouraging diners to complement their meals with vibrant, healthy options.

Refreshing Fruit and Beverage Selection

A noteworthy aspect was the dedicated section for dates, dried fruits, and fresh fruit, which served as a refreshing way to break the fast. This spread not only honored tradition but also added a lightness to the meal.

The beverage options were another welcome touch, including Ramadan staples like Qamar u-din, jalab, and sweet lassi. These drinks provided a refreshing contrast to the savory dishes and were a perfect complement to the experience. Additionally, tea and coffee were available for those looking to conclude their meal with a warm beverage.

Main Courses: A Fusion of Flavors

As I moved on to the main dishes, the variety was evident. From beef kebabs to flavorful fish cutlets and vegetarian options like veg salona, there was something for every palate. I found the dates pulao particularly interesting, as it paired well with the rich dal makhni.

However, the ouzi stood out for its presentation, featuring tender lamb served on a bed of saffron rice. This dish encapsulated the essence of hospitality, offering both flavor and a sense of luxury.

Interactive Live Pasta Station

One of the highlights of the meal was the live pasta station. Guests could customize their pasta with different sauces, making it an engaging and interactive experience. I enjoyed red sauce pasta made with fresh vegetables and plenty of cheese, while the children around me opted for pink sauce pasta, well-received for its simplicity and flavor.

Desserts to Conclude the Meal

As the meal approached its conclusion, the dessert station was equally impressive. Options ranged from traditional gajar ka halwa and Um Ali to a variety of mini desserts such as carrot cake and chocolate mousse. The moon-shaped cake and red velvet slice caught my attention, rounding out the meal on a sweet note.

Entertainment and Service

To enhance the dining experience, an oud player performed throughout the evening, providing a soothing soundtrack to our meal. His melodies created a cultural backdrop that resonated well with the atmosphere. The service was attentive, with staff ensuring that every detail was managed seamlessly, from drink refills to guiding guests around the buffet.

Conclusion

Attending Iftar at Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor proved to be an enriching experience, balancing food and ambiance effectively. The thoughtfulness in the buffet layout, inviting decorations, and attentive service contributed to a heartfelt gathering. Such settings provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with family and friends while embracing the traditions of Ramadan.
