Amuni Restaurant & Lounge: a celestial Mediterranean dining experience in the sky

A brand-new restaurant nestled in the skies of the iconic Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Amuni offers a celestial dining experience that transports your taste buds to the enchanting flavors of the Rivieras.

Embarking on a culinary journey inspired by the sun-kissed coastlines of Spain, France, and Italy, here you can indulge in a feast featuring fresh seafood, premium meats, market vegetables, and sumptuous pastas, all set against the backdrop of an elegant and swanky atmosphere that echoes the spirit of island summers by the sea. Translating to “let’s go” in Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean, the name “Amuni” beckons Dubai to embrace this hot new culinary destination, promising breathtaking coastal views that elevate the dining experience to new heights.

The scenic backdrop

Beyond the gastronomic delights, the panoramic view of Dubai’s skyline serves as an enchanting backdrop to the entire experience. As the day transitions into night, the city lights come alive, providing a mesmerizing canvas that complements the culinary artistry of Amuni. Each dish is savored against the backdrop of Dubai’s glittering cityscape, enhancing the overall ambiance. The venue space is modern, clean and we sat at a unique tree trunk table overlooking the glittery skyline of Dubai. The vibe is minimalist with elegance, with wooden flooring, large green trees, and electic spotlighting.

To start

We were first served a freshly baked breads and cheese sticks basket with parma butter.  This was followed by the assorted starters which was a good blend of Pane cimzata, tomato and basil which was a delicious salad with a divergence of flavors.  A shining star among the starters is the Seabass Blue — a visually arresting dish featuring seabass adorned in a captivating pale blue hue. Marinated in tomato water and infused with natural color from the blue butterfly pea, it not only captivates the eyes but stands as a testament to Amuni’s commitment to innovative and visually stunning flavor combinations.

Then the arancino, often known as arancini in its plural form, which is an Italian dish that consists of small, round balls of rice, typically shaped into a sphere or cone. The rice is usually seasoned, and it can be mixed with various ingredients such as saffron, cheese, meat, or peas. After the rice is shaped and filled, the arancino is coated with breadcrumbs and deep-fried until it achieves a golden-brown, crispy exterior. Arancini variations may vary across regions in Italy, and they are enjoyed as a popular snack or appetizer.

Burrata ‘crispy pizza’ was literally a flatbread pizza with my favorite, in the entire world, burrata cheese in the center of it. It had arugula and cherry tomatoes, and the entire dish was light and airy.

We loved the Gigantic Amuni Farm Garden Salad which was a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to diverse and vibrant flavors. Bursting with baby gem, white radish, pomelo, mixed seeds, and agave dressing, it orchestrates a symphony of tastes and textures that delight the palate.

Amuni’s mains

Mains for us at Amuni included the Grilled Roasted Swordfish with Mediterranean Sauce which emerges as a standout main course, offering a flavorful and robust alternative to the more common seabass. Simple yet expertly executed, the dish features Tarantino tomatoes, black olives, onion, and basil, culminating in a superlative taste experience. Each bite is a harmonious blend of the sea’s bounty and the Mediterranean’s culinary richness. I liked the fact that it was so simple yet so packed in subtle flavors so it wasn’t overpowering the freshness of the swordfish.

Sweet treats Amuni style

From the desserts, we tried two and both were unique in both presentation and in taste. The first one was a delicately presented mini style tiramisu that was beautifully plated with a tiny pistachio flavored chocolate. The combination was well paired and tasted divine. The next dessert was an icy cold Greek yogurt that was cold when bitten into. It was again, following the same pattern of the rest of the dishes, started with cold then transformed into another texture and flavor. It was really satisfying and not overly sweet.

The complete experience

Amuni is not merely a restaurant; it is a sanctuary for gastronomic enthusiasts, a portal to Sicily with a Mediterranean twist. Whether commemorating a special occasion or simply indulging in a moment of self-pampering, Amuni ensures an experience that transcends the ordinary. The attentive and knowledgeable staff adds an extra layer to the dining experience, guiding patrons through the culinary journey with insights into the origin and preparation of each dish. The warmth and professionalism of the staff contribute to the overall charm of Amuni.

In conclusion, Amuni Dubai isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an immersive journey through the flavors of the Mediterranean Rivieras. With an exquisite blend of ambiance, culinary artistry, and exceptional hospitality, Amuni sets itself apart as a culinary destination that transcends the ordinary.
